On April 10, we were honored to have fourth and fifth generation Weaver’s participate in the Annual White House Easter Egg Roll. The first annual White House Easter Egg Roll was held in 1878 after President Rutherford B. Hayes agreed to open the White House Grounds on Easter Monday. This is a very special tradition as it is rare that the White House opens its grounds to the public. Molly Weaver and her son, Will Schupp, enjoyed breakfast in the White House, had a photo opportunity with The President and First Lady, and then enjoyed several egg-citing activities on the lawn. Weaver Eggs was proud to simultaneously donate 50,000 eggs to a local food bank in honor of the Annual event, which is hosted by the American Egg Board.
